Celebrate a life with a gift that will go on bringing hope.

Giving a gift in memory is a way for friends and family of a loved one to donate to a charity in their name. There are several ways to do this: you can set up your own sponsored event in their memory, or request donations to charity as an alternative to giving flowers at a funeral.

Donating in memory of someone is a wonderful way to celebrate their life and bring hope to others. It also gives an opportunity to inspire other friends and family about causes that were important to your loved one. By giving to Christians Against Poverty, you’ll help set people free from debt and poverty across the UK, releasing them to have a fresh start in life.

Simple ways to set up a gift in memory of someone

  • Give a one-off gift or become a regular giver in memory of your loved one.

  • Set up a tribute page. This is an online space that’s personal to you, where you and others can write messages and collect donations to create a lasting memorial for your loved one. You’ll be able to keep coming back to read the messages and to see how much you’ve raised to help others find freedom from poverty. We’ve partnered with muchloved.com to make it easy for you – set up a tribute page here.
  • Collect donations at the funeral. A Funeral Director may be able to take care of this on your behalf and submit the donations to CAP. If you’d prefer to organise it yourself, you can collect donations and then send in the funds raised online, over the phone, or by cheque.

  • Take on a sponsored event in memory of your loved one. If you’re feeling a bit creative and want to do something in celebration of their life, then how about a sponsored bike ride, hike or coffee morning? See more ideas of sponsored events along with how we can support you to organise them.
